Detroit, MI- A rematch of two former WXC amateur competitors will happen in our pro ranks as Alesha ‘Half Pint’ Zappitella (2-0) fights ‘The Sensation’ Kyna Sisson (3-1) at WXC 71. These two first met at WXC 56 in March of 2015. In that amateur match, Sisson was victorious by a second round submission. Since that match was for a WXC amateur championship, these two make perfect additions to the 10th annual night of champions.
After beating Zappitella in their first meeting, Sission went pro in her next fight in June of 2015. Since that time she has been able to win three of her four pro fights, winning two of them by knockout. She is already ranked the number one pound for pound women’s fighter in Michigan and would like to keep that honor on February 17th.
Since the first match between these two, Alesha had a few more fights as an amateur before finally turning pro in October of 2016. She has fought three times as a pro but her last fight in April was ruled a no contest so she still is undefeated at (2-0). Of those two wins, one is by submission. She has competed as low as 105 lbs. and as high as 125 lbs. so ‘Half Pint’ will feel right at home for this 115 lbs. scrap. Looking for revenge and to keep an undefeated record, we should she the best Zappitella ever entering the WXC steel.
Doors open at 6pm with the fights starting at 7pm on February 17th at the Crystal Gardens in Southgate, MI. More fights will be announced in the coming weeks along with ticket and broadcast information. Stayed tuned to WXCMMA.com for more information on WXC 71: Night of Champions X.
