Detroit, MI- After a lot of thought and discussion among staff and our fighters, we have decided to postpone WXC 87 on Friday April 10th, 2020. With restrictions on large events, restaurants and martial art schools and gyms in the state of Michigan due to the coronavirus, we will uphold that decision in the name of safety. We apologize for any inconvenience and will re-fund any tickets bought online immediately. Any tickets bought directly from our fighters will have to be refunded from them.
We learned today that the Ohio Department of Health has estimated that 100,000 people in Ohio have Covid-19. The CDC says that the incubation period (the time between when someone gets it and starts having symptoms) is between 2 and 14 days, so people infected could be sharing it with friends, families, and strangers for a long time before they realize it. As our event would hold a little over 1,000 people in close contact, we will be doing our part by finding a suitable date later in the year for this show. We’re doing this for the safety of the everyone involved with our event. We will reevaluate the situation when it comes to our next event planned in June.
We will keep everyone posted with any other news in regards in this and future events that be affected. We did everything we could to try to have this event but we feel this is the best way to keep everyone safe. We hope everyone is staying safe as well and we will stay hard at work to bring everyone the best MMA action we can in the future. Stay safe from everyone at Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting.
