Detroit, MI- Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting is excited to announce its next event, WXC 73 which will take place on Friday August 3rd, 2018 as we return to the Southgate Civic Center in Southgate, MI. Coming off the spectacular WXC 72: Inferno card at the same arena, which is now available to watch on UFC Fightpass, we at WXC are ready to get back at it again for our second card of the summer.
Upon this announcement of WXC 73, we have two stellar fights already lined up. First up we have a number one contender fight in the welterweight division will be featured as Willis Black fights Marco Smallman. Black is fresh off a victory at WXC 72 as he knocked out Dustin Parrish in the third round. That victory runs the ‘Silverback’ to (4-2) in his career. His opponent in Smallman is a perfect (5-0) and has a big win over WXC competitor Devin Smyth as well. The Fuse MMA product will be making his WXC debut and looks to make a big splash by trying to take out Willis Black. Champion Evan Cutts will have a tough challenge ahead of him no matter which one of these extremely talented fighters are victorious.
Speaking of championships, a interim championship in the heavyweight division is official for WXC 73 as Leroy ‘Big’ Johnson will square off against Brett Martin. Johnson enters this bout at (7-2) and is hungry for a fight. He last fought and won in April of last year and had a cancelled fight at WXC 72. Johnson is ready for redemption at WXC gold as he fell short in his last bid against current WXC heavyweight champion Pat Walsh. A win for Johnson and he can try to get that win back against Walsh. Martin is undefeated with a record of (4-0, 1 NC) for his pro career. He is coming off a win over long time MMA veteran Ray Lopez. Even though he is making his WXC debut, this 24 year old has quickly become a top fighter in the state of Michigan and looks to prove it on August 3rd.
Tickets, times, broadcast information and more fights are still to come for WXC 73. Again this fight card will take place on Friday August 3rd, 2018 from the Southgate Civic Center in Southgate, MI. Stay tuned right here to WXCMMA.com for more information on this event in the coming weeks.
