Detroit, MI- WXC 72 adds another big fight for June 1st. Taylor Moore (7-4) returns to face off with Eric Ramirez (3-1) at 135 lbs. Eric ‘The Ram’ Ramirez made his return to MMA at WXC 70 in November of last year after previously not fighting since February of 2015. That fight was also his only pro loss to date. Through many trials and tribulations, he returned to MMA with a bang. Despite facing one of the best fighters WXC could offer in Jesse Bazzi for his return, he performed with flying colors. The 10th Planet Pontiac trainee set-up the win with a powerful hook that sent his opponent down to the canvas.
In the ensuing chaos, Ramirez locked up a tight guillotine choke. The choke actually rendered Bazzi unconscious as the referee had to step in to stop the contest in round two. That finish earned ‘The Ram’ his third career victory, submission of the night and the WXC 2017 submission of the year award as well. Ramirez looks to continue the momentum he started at WXC 70 into this fight against Moore at WXC 72. In his three pro wins, ‘The Ram’ has won all of them by submission.
Taylor Moore returns to the WXC steel after last competing a little over two years in April of 2016 for WXC. That fight was for the WXC bantamweight title against Johnny Bedford. Despite being the underdog in the fight, Moore fought admirably, going into round four against the former UFC fighter. Since then the SFS product has run his record to (7-4) with six wins by finish, five of them by knockout and one by submission.
Despite the success since his last WXC bout, he has lost back to back fights for the first time in his career. However both were hard fought decision losses and overall has only been stopped once in his 11 pro fight career. Moore looks to improve upon those narrow defeats and get back on the winning track against Ramirez at WXC 72. He has already fought for WXC gold once but a win over Ramirez puts him in a very good position to fight for it again.
