Heavyweight title fight Johnson vs Martin slated for WXC 73 main event

Detroit, MI- The WXC heavyweight title bout of Leroy ‘Big’ Johnson (7-2) vs Brett Martin(4-0) has been named the main event of WXC 73: Relentless. This will be the first WXC fight for Johnson since WXC 64 and Martin will be making his WXC debut.

After suffering both of his two career loses in 2016, Johnson got back on the winning track in 2017 by winning against long time MMA veteran Ray Lopez. That win got Johnson his seventh pro victory, which dates back to 2014. As previously mentioned Johnson’s last WXC fight was at WXC 64 against current WXC heavyweight champion Pat Walsh. That wasn’t Johnson’s night but at Relentless he gets another chance at WXC gold. Of his seven pro wins, he has five decisions along with one knockout and one submission a piece.

His opponent is WXC newcomer Brett Martin. Martin started out his pro career in 2016, in what was a super heavyweight bout. Since his debut, he has been able to drop down and fight and heavyweight. Regardless of the division, the ‘Big Dog’ has won all four of his pro fights. That includes his last fight in September of last year which saw Martin win by decision for the first time. In his other three wins, two are by knockout and one is by submission. The West Michigan resident will be looking to get the biggest win of his career come August 3rd at Relentless.
