Head kick KO sends Townsend away with with a win

Southgate, MI– ‘The Tarantula’ promised a good show and he delivered at WXC 69. Former WXC Welterweight champion Dequan Townsend had a very tough opponent in front of him at WXC 69 in Willis Black. Despite the height and reach advantage Townsend had, Black is an extremely fast and powerful striker. However, Townsend never let Black have the opportunity to lay his hands on him as he turned out the Silverback’s lights in just 28 seconds of the first round.

A brief feeling out period between both men started the round until Townsend unleashed a brutal head kick that caught Black flush. A few follow up hammer fists by Dequan and Black was out cold. Townsend improves to (17-7) and Black falls to (3-2). During the post-fight interview, Townsend said he was done fighting at 170 and had no desire to fight Evan Cutts to try and reclaim his WXC Welterweight title. He instead called out WXC Middleweight champion Joe Riggs. Check out the other fight results from WXC 69: Illuminate by clicking here.
