Detroit, MI- Elijah Cavender (0-1) returns to the WXC steel against Brandon Woodcockl (0-0) in a featherweight bout. This will be the pro MMA debut for Woodcock after competing as an amateur for a few years. Cavender was supposed to fight at WXC 70 in November but an arm injury forced him out of the match. He is now healed up and ready to battle it out on February 17th.
Brandon Woodcock first started MMA as an amateur in 2011. Over the past 7 years he has fought all over Michigan and the Mid-West from as high as 185 lbs. to know fighting at 145 lbs. As an amateur he competed twice in 2017, winning both fights. Those fights were also both by knockout. With so much experience in a cage under his belt, Woodcock is finally ready to showcase his abilities on the pro stage.
Facing off against Woodcock will be Michigan Top Team fighter Elijah Cavender, who will be seeking his first pro MMA win as well. He made his pro debut back in July at WXC 69 against Jordan McGuire. He got submitted in that fight but showed off some great striking skills. He dropped McGuire in the first round before getting caught in a choke in the second round. With first fight jitters behind him, expect a new and improved Cavender for WXC 70.
Doors open at 6pm with the fights starting at 7pm on February 17th. Tickets for WXC 70 can be purchased here and are priced as follows; General Admission- $35, Cageside $65, Front Row- $100, VIP table $1,000 which can seat up to 10 guests.
