Black vs Smallman is co-main event of WXC 73

Detroit, MI- We have a number one contender fight in the welterweight division for the co-main event of WXC 73: Relentless. The bout that will be featured is Willis ‘Silverback’ Black (4-2) vs Marco Smallman (5-0). The winner will earn themselves a title shot in the 170 division against champion Evan Cutts in the near future.

The ‘Silverback’ returned to action after a year off from MMA at WXC 72 in June. Black entered his bout against Dustin Parrish on a two fight losing streak. The fight against Parrish wasn’t going good for Black but he turned things completely around and was able to get a third round knockout victory. That victory runs the ‘Silverback’ to (4-2) in his career. Black looks to continue that momentum into this fight with Smallman. Black was close to WXC pro gold at WXC 68 against Evan Cutts and would sure like another crack at ‘The Butcher’. Expect fireworks from the ‘Silverback’ as he has never has been to a decision win or lose and has two knockout and submission wins a piece.

His opponent in Smallman is a perfect (5-0) and has a big win over WXC competitor Devin Smyth as well. The Fuse MMA product will be making his WXC debut and looks to make a big splash by trying to take out Willis Black. Smallman is already a champion at 170 in another promotion but would love the WXC title in his collection. The ‘Hybrid’ has finished two of his five wins by knockout and has even gone a full 25 minutes for his last win in April of this year. Champion Evan Cutts will have a tough challenge ahead of him no matter which one of these extremely talented fighters are victorious.
